Migraines
Did you know that "migraine" does not mean headache?
Neither did I, until my husband had an appt. with a Brain Surgeon at Johns Hopkins Hospital in MD. Well, it seems that migraine actually means overload of the senses. In particular, the tasting / food sensor and there are a million - okay, I'm exaggerating - food "triggers". Now what that might mean for most people (me included), when you've eaten too many of these "triggers" then the headache will occur. And since there are other factors involved: tired, energetic, blood sugar, smells, noises, the environment, stress, etc., you really have no idea what will be the proverbial "Straw that broke the camels back".
Now in the case of my husband, it's not headaches that I'm talking about but Vertigo. Yep! Yuck! This last episode had him feeling like he was on the Tea Cups ride at the Fair for 7 days straight and couldn't get off!
So, where was I going with all of this? I had already known about some of these food "triggers" because of my past, but we are finding out that there are so many more possibilities. I'm thinking, "What do I cook????" So, good old Amazon.com, I searched for cookbooks for migraine sufferers. And, I actually bought 5 (or 6... can't remember now how many) all but 1 was less than $1.00 per book - one was even $.01. How cool was that? I've gotten 2 so far. The first one is very interesting and looks Gooood! The second one doesn't look too good and will probably be 'yard sale'd' after I copy a small handfull of recipes.
But anyway, if you suffer from headaches, vertigo, sinus issues, back pain, etc. I suggest you read, Dr. Buchholz's Heal Your Headache, The 1-2-3 Program for taking charge of your pain. Very interesting and worth the read. We borrowed our copy from the library!
Good luck! Here's to a future without headaches and vertigo! WooHoo!
